Let It Snow...

So remember how it snowed on my proverbial Thanksgiving parade? Well...The Uk decided to take up the theme and turn it into a country-wide event. It snowed. And snowed. And snowed. Airports closed and remained closed. Trains were delayed and cancelled. Buses were delayed, rerouted, and swerved up and down the roads. Streets didn't get gritted, as there were not enough gritters to get the entire bloody country. Sidewalks came after the streets, and were therefore more treacherous to walk on than the roads. People couldn't get into work, so it was pretty quiet in the office. Quiet is synonymous for boring. It was far from ideal.

At least it was pretty though...

If there is any one thing that makes me want to leave the UK, it is snow. The snow compacts into ice, and everything is uncomfortable and everywhere is hard to get to. Add to this temperatures of -16ยบ c and really, all I wanted to do for the two weeks between Thanksgiving and leaving for California was cuddle on the couch with tea, comfort foods, and delay the need to leave the flat as much as possible.

And to be fair, although the snow has left *knock on wood*, it's still cold and gross. The couch awaits me! :-)

Have a good night!
